Cisco provides three levels of certification, the Associate level, the Professional level and the Expert level for IT professionals. There are several different tracks to meet individual needs. There are many paths to Cisco certification, but only one requirement-passing one or more exams demonstrating knowledge and skill.
Currently, the most popular Cisco exam remains CCNA, (Cisco Certified Network Associate). CCNA certification opens the door to several advanced Cisco certification paths.

Cisco Changes Exam Pricing
Effective November 1, 2001, the price for all exams which begin with #640-XXX and #9E0-XXX, except #640-509, will be US$125 in the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico. The price for the Foundation exam (#640-509) will be US$250 in the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico. At this time, no other regions nor other exams, including the CCIE qualifying exams and CCIE recertification exams, will be affected.
